San Francisco’s 311 Customer Service Center is often the front door to city services, from reporting graffitti to requesting street cleaning.

We’re constantly working to make 311 easier to use and help residents get information to the right place.

We’ve heard from residents that they want a clearer way to report drug activity on public property through the 311 app. Now, a new “public drug activity” category in the 311 app allows residents to submit reports that will help SFPD plan future enforcement and inform citywide efforts.

This update is part of ongoing efforts to make 311 easier to use and help residents understand how their reports are used.

Whether you need report a pothole, want information about local events, or have a question about residential parking permits, 311 is here to help 24/7. Call 311 to talk to a live person, submit a report on the 311 mobile app or our website to request City services.

Help us Improve 311!

Have an idea for making 311 easier to use? We want to hear from you! Whether you’ve had a great experience or encountered something confusing or frustrating, your feedback helps us identify opportunities to improve city services.

37 Years Since the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake

This month marks the anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, a defining moment in San Francisco's history that reshaped the City's approach to earthquake preparedness and public safety.

In the decades since, San Francisco has made significant investments in strengthening buildings, modernizing critical infrastructure, and preparing for future disasters. This year also marks 20 years of San Francisco’s 10-Year Capital Plan, coordinated by the Office of Resilience and Capital Planning within the City Administrator’s Office. The plan helps guide long-term investments in the public infrastructure and facilities that San Franciscans rely on every day.

San Franciscans proposed 100 ideas for neighborhood beautification projects

San Franciscans are stepping up with big ideas for their neighborhoods! This application cycle, the City Administrator's Office's Community Challenge Grant Program (CCG) received 100 proposals for community-led projects that beautify public spaces, strengthen neighborhood connections, and improve quality of life across the city.

The program  helps residents and community organizations turn ideas into projects that foster community pride, resilience, and a greater sense of belonging.

We look forward to reviewing this year's proposals and seeing the creative ways San Franciscans are working to improve their communities.

Strengthening safeguards for City firearm purchases

The City Administrator’s Office is working with the Board of Supervisors and the Brady Group to strengthen the City’s rules for purchasing firearms used by law enforcement. These changes will help ensure that when the City needs to buy firearms for public safety purposes, it only does business with responsible, law-abiding dealers.

Approved by the Board of Supervisors Rules Committee this week, the legislation strengthens existing requirements for vendors to follow safe business practices and comply with laws designed to prevent gun trafficking, theft, and crime.
