Join the next Small Business Contracting Workshop
Are you a small business who’s interested in contracting with the City and County of San Francisco but not sure where to start? Are you a business who’s interested in Local Business Enterprise (LBE) or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification?
Join us at the City Contracting 101 Workshop on Wednesday, September 16th and connect directly with City staff to learn how to do business with the City, explore the benefits of LBE and DBE certification, and get one-on-one guidance tailored to your business.
Hands-on support will be available throughout the event!
Apply for a Community Challenge Grant
The Community Challenge Grants (CCG) Program is now accepting applications! CCG provides City funding for community-led neighborhood improvement projects that foster resilience, safety, and belonging across San Francisco. Nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, and community partners are encouraged to apply with projects that beautify public spaces and bring people together through collaboration and local leadership. Applications are due October 20, 2026.
CCG is also hosting information sessions for prospective grantees!

Enhancing 311 technology to improve customer service for San Francisco
311 agents are answering your questions faster thanks to a new tool called the Enhanced Knowledge Base (EKB).
The EKB serves as an internal search engine powered by AI, supporting 311 agents to retrieve the right information that customers need. Based on official City information and verified by experienced City staff, the EKB helps agents deliver clear guidance to customers faster.
Whether you need report a pothole, want information about local events, or have a question about residential parking permits, 311 is here to help 24/7. Call 311 to talk to a live person, or submit a report on the 311 mobile app or our website to request City services.
Moscone Center hosts Pokémon World Championships and Dreamforce
On August 28–30, Moscone Center is hosting the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, activating the City with exciting events and fan experiences throughout the weekend.
The competition brings more than 3,000 players and thousands of fans from across the globe.
Across the City, local businesses are offering a wide array of Pokémon-themed promotions and deals! To catch ‘em all, visit ShopDineSF on SF.gov.
Following the excitement of Pokémon, the Moscone Center will host Dreamforce, the world’s biggest AI-convention, September 15–17. For 24 years, San Francisco has hosted the convention that welcomes 50,000+ attendees, creates 35,000+ local jobs, and generates hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity.
San Francisco Celebrates Welcoming Week: September 10-19
Welcoming Week celebrates the work of communities across the globe to become welcoming places for everyone, including immigrants. In San Francisco, the Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs (OCEIA) is coordinating events and opportunities to uplift inclusion and belonging throughout the City.
