Newly Crowned Champions Will March Along Embarcadero With WNBA Championship Trophy on November 4, Beginning at Noon; On the Heels of WNBA Title, San Francisco Will Host Next Year’s WNBA All-Star Game; Follows Safe and Successful Large Events like Fleet Week, Outside Lands, FIFA World Cup, and Super Bowl

SAN FRANCISCO – Mayor Daniel Lurie today announced that San Francisco will host a victory parade for the WNBA champion Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, November 4, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Valkyries players, coaches, and staff as well as city officials and Bay Area legends will march along the Embarcadero, starting at the Ferry Building near Mission Street and ending at Second Street and King Street. Fans can begin lining up along the parade route at 9:00 AM.

The Valkyries championship parade will be the latest large event drawing crowds to downtown San Francisco. Building on the recent success of Fleet Week, which brought hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city, the parade adds to a growing lineup of major events bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and fueling San Francisco’s recovery. The mayor recently celebrated that Super Bowl LX, SF Pride, FIFA World Cup, Fleet Week, Summer of Music, Dreamforce, Pokémon World Championships, Portola Music Festival collectively generated more than $1 billion in economic impact for San Francisco while demonstrating the city’s ability to safely welcome large-scale events. With Vogue World and WNBA All-Star Weekend coming in 2027 and MLB All-Star Weekend in 2028, San Francisco is prepared to welcome even more visitors and strengthen its position as a destination for world-class sporting and cultural events.

“In just two years, the Golden State Valkyries have taken the sports world by storm. They have built a fiercely loyal fan base that has sold out every home game they’ve ever played, cemented San Francisco a global hub of women’s sports, and now taken their rightful place as WNBA champions,” said Mayor Lurie. “This team embodies the spirit and the values that make San Francisco unique, bringing our city together and giving fans across the Bay Area so much to celebrate. Congratulations to the players, the coaches, the staff, and the entire Valkyries organization on this historic victory—we’re so excited to celebrate this incredible team.”

In alignment with Mayor Lurie’s work to revitalize San Francisco, the city is debuting a new parade route to celebrate the Valkyries’ historic WNBA championship and the unprecedented fanbase that has sold out every home game the team has played in its two years. This celebration honors not only the team’s extraordinary achievement, but also the role they have played in the city’s comeback.

“Before we even had a name or any players on our roster, Bay Area fans supported this team with a joy and passion that's unmatched in all professional sports,” said Jess Smith, Golden State Valkyries President. “They wore the colors, they led the chants, and they showed up anywhere and everywhere to cheer on the Valkyries. This parade is our chance to show up for them and celebrate the impact they’ve made on this historic championship run. There’s no doubt we couldn’t have done this without our community, and we can’t wait to see the Embarcadero lined with violet as they celebrate with our players and coaches and spread the joy they’ve brought all season across the entire city.”
