California Expands Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans
Under newly signed California Senate Bill 296, qualifying disabled veterans will receive expanded property tax exemptions starting January 1, 2027. Eligible homeowners can exempt 50%—or for lower‑income households, 100%—of the first $1 million of their home’s value. The Veterans Affairs Council supported this legislation and is very pleased to see it enacted!
