Approval of the August 27, 2025 Meeting Minutes
The Commission will review and possibly approve minutes from the regular August 27, 2025, meeting.
Prop E Commission Streamlining Task Force Committee
Discussion and Possible Action
Commissioner Sophia Andary will provide an update on the September 10, 2025, meeting with Task Force member Ed Harrington, Rachel Alonso from the City Administrator’s Office, Acting Director Yeung, and Secretary Blakely. She will also review the Streamlining Task Force’s upcoming meeting calendar and highlight other important dates over the next year.
Commissioner Andary may present key discussion points and seek input and feedback from the Commission for a statement to be delivered during public comment at the October 15 Commission Streamlining Task Force meeting. The Commission will then discuss and vote on whether to provide a joint comment and may grant authority to the President to read this statement on behalf of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Action: To vote on whether to provide a joint comment and grant authority to the President, or their designee, to deliver a statement on behalf of the Commission at the October 15 Commission Streamlining Task Force meeting.
Director/Department Head Recruitment Committee
Discussion
Human Rights Commission Director Mawuli Tugbenyoh will provide an update on the Director/Department Head recruitment.
Commissioner Andary may announce that the Director/Department Head Recruitment Committee has concluded and that there will be no further actions from this committee.

Acting Department Head Hannah Cotter may discuss grant programs; core service area activities; meetings involving City leaders, agencies, and stakeholders; Department staff; past/upcoming events; and/or Department operations.

New Business
A. BLACK WOMEN REVOLT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (BWRADV) GRANT AMENDMENT
Discussion and Possible Action
Pursuant to Administrative Code Section 21G.8, the Commission will discuss and possibly adopt a resolution approving an amendment to a grant agreement with Black Women Revolt Against Domestic Violence (BWRADV), fiscally sponsored by San Francisco Study Center, increasing the grant amount by an additional $160,000 using funds received from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, in order to further expand BWRADV’s capacity to deliver culturally responsive and trauma informed services to Black survivors of domestic violence.
Explanatory Document: Resolution approving to amend the grant agreement for the Black Women Revolt Against Domestic Violence, fiscally sponsored by San Francisco Study Center.
Action: To approve the resolution to amend the grant agreement for BWRADV.
B. COMMUNITY MEETING PLAN
Discussion and Possible Action
Commissioner Miry and Denise Heitzenroder, Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives, will provide an update on the draft community meeting memo included in the August 27 meeting materials packet. The Commission will then discuss the Department’s suggested options for a community meeting, as outlined in the memo. Following the discussion, the Commission may take action, which could include a vote to approve the topic/plan or to provide direction on next steps.

Future Agenda Items
The Commission may discuss potential topics for future meeting agendas.
A. Consideration of Bylaws Revisions:
The Commission may discuss whether to add this item to the October agenda. If the Commission wishes to adopt a new rule, amend an existing rule, or repeal one, the public must be provided with 10 days’ notice prior to the meeting at which the proposal will be considered.
General Public Comment
This item is to allow members of the public to address the Commission on matters that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission and that do not appear on the agenda, as well as to suggest new agenda items for future meetings.
