Approval of the April 23, 2025 (with amendments), and June 25, 2025 Meeting Minutes

The Commission will review and possibly approve minutes from the regular Commission April 23, 2025 (with amendments), and June 25, 2025.

Prop E Commission Streamlining Task Force Committee

Discussion and Possible Action

President Andary will provide an update on the Commission Streamlining Task Force’s planned meeting calendar, which outlines the scheduled dates on which the Task Force will evaluate and discuss each board or commission under review. Additionally, she will share information about the feedback being requested from commissions, which is due by Friday, August 8th.

The Commission will discuss and may grant authority to President Andary to collaborate with the Commission Secretary in completing the questionnaire, meet with the Task Force to provide input, and attend the October 15th meeting to represent the Commission on the Status of Women.

Director/Department Head Recruitment Committee

Discussion and Possible Action

Commissioner Jones Lowrey will provide an update regarding the Director/Department Head recruitment, including the timeline, logistics, and proposed closed session at the August 27th Commission meeting.

Action: To approve matters related to the timeline and logistics of the Director/Department Head recruitment and hiring plan, as well as the proposed closed session at the August 27th Commission meeting.

Director's Report

IActing Director Mawuli Tugbenyoh of HRC and staff may discuss grant programs; core service area activities; meetings involving City leaders, agencies, and stakeholders; Department staff; past/upcoming events; and/or Department operations.

Dr. Alfredo Huante will provide an update on the 2025 Gender Analysis of Commissions and Boards Report survey. The Commission will discuss any feedback or suggestions they may have regarding the design of the 2025 report.

New Business

A. PRESENTATION ON VIOLENCE AGAINST TRANS WOMEN 2024 DATA REPORT DISCUSSION

Dr. Wilson from the Department of Public Health (DPH) will present recently collected data of trans women documenting the violence they experienced in San Francisco in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, Dr. Wilson will share data on trans women's trust in existing systems—such as law enforcement and domestic violence services—to address the violence they face, highlighting important avenues for intervention and the need for policy change.

B. POTENTIAL HEARING/TOWN HALL MEETING

DISCUSSION and POSSIBLE ACTION

The Commission will discuss possible topics for a hearing or town hall meeting that reflect specific concerns raised by the community in recent months. They may also decide whether to hold such an event if it is deemed necessary and beneficial in addressing these issues.

Action: To hold a hearing or town hall meeting.
