The Office of District 3 Supervisor Sauter is hiring a legislative assistant to serve as an AAPI Community Affairs Liaison for San Francisco’s diverse neighborhoods and communities.
In this role, you will help lead our office’s efforts to listen, engage, and deliver for communities including Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Nob Hill, and downtown.
Supervisor Sauter and his team of four legislative aides are pursuing an ambitious agenda of making San Francisco more friendly to young families, more supportive for small businesses, and more affordable for all.
Potential responsibilities include:
- Grow relationships with neighborhood associations, merchant groups, and community leaders
- Staff the Supervisor at community events, often on nights and weekends
- Support press and social media strategy, especially as it relates to bilingual news outlets
- Organize events, rallies, and community affairs
- Support producing media content including via photography, videography, and written statements
- Work closely with city departments to advance priorities and respond to constituent concerns
- Manage a portion of constituent services - answering emails, phones, meetings - as needed to address community concerns
- Partner on legislative and policy reforms that improve lives
- Translate English to Cantonese in live settings, meetings, and in written form
Language proficiency in Cantonese is a desirable qualification.
Salary & Compensation
Compensation range for the position will be between $125,528 and $152,646
