For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 – The Department of Elections will begin Logic and Accuracy testing of San Francisco’s voting equipment on Friday, September 26, and will continue until all devices have been tested.

Testing will take place at the Department’s warehouse at Pier 31 and in the Ballot Processing Room at City Hall, Room 48.

"Transparency at every stage of the election process is essential to safeguarding integrity and building public confidence in our local elections," said Director John Arntz. "We remain committed to openness and accountability and invite the public to observe our procedures before, during, and after Election Day."

Mandated by law, the Logic and Accuracy testing is conducted before each election to ensure that all voting equipment used in the election accurately records and tabulates votes.

Members of the public are invited to observe the testing either in person at the locations specified above or via livestream on the Department’s website at sfelections.gov/observe.

San Francisco’s voting system includes the ImageCast Evolution Ballot-Scanning Machine, the ImageCast X Ballot-Marking Device, and the ImageCast Central Scanner—all of which are subject to testing.

A complete calendar of observable activities for the November 4 Election is available at sfelections.gov/observe.

For more information about observing election processes, contact the Department of Elections at (415) 554-4375, email sfvote@sfgov.org, or visit the Department’s office in City Hall, Room 48.
