News & Opportunities
Business Stabilization Grant updates
- We are currently accepting re-applications from existing grantees of the Rent or Business Stabilization Grant programs for Fiscal Year 2026-27. We sent an email on August 18 to property owners and the Legacy Business tenants about the re-application process and award amounts. If you haven’t received that email and think you should have, let us know at legacybusiness@sfgov.org.
- We are not accepting any new Business Stabilization Grant applications this fiscal year (July 2026-June 2027) due to budget constraints.
- On Monday, August 24, the Small Business Commission will vote on proposed updates to the Business Stabilization Grant rules and regulations, which would apply to new grant applicants. The proposed changes are to address the growing number of Legacy Businesses, helping to ensure that more businesses can benefit from this program:
- New grantees would be limited to five grants over a five-year period.
- Property owners must apply within one year of entering the lease contract.
- Landlords can only submit one application per distinct San Francisco Legacy Business location.
- Upon receipt of the grant, Legacy Business tenants are required to receive ten hours of business technical assistance and business advising.
Read a summary of the proposed changes.
