INFORMATION ITEM: Hallidie Plaza Accessibility Improvements

Description: The Hallidie Plaza Accessibility Improvement Project, located at the north corner of Market Street and Cyril Magnin Street, aims to improve access to the plaza from street level and the Powell BART/Muni station, one of the primary gateways into San Francisco. By constructing a new main ramp to the plaza level, adding a secondary ramp to the station entry level, and removing the decommissioned elevator, the project would address existing ADA barriers and these improvements would create a safer, more welcoming, and inclusive public space, while strengthening connections between transit, the plaza, and the surrounding neighborhood, benefiting residents, commuters, and visitors alike.

Presented by Christine Hunt, Assistant Project Manager, Curb Ramp Program.
