October is Filipino American History Month. We invite you to participate in free events, discover Filipino-owned small businesses, and explore the many gems in the Filipino Cultural Heritage District.
Sunday Streets with SOMA Pilipinas
Sunday, October 5th, don't miss your opportunity to experience SOMA in a whole new way—free from cars and full of community connection, activities, and fun! Sunday Streets SOMA transforms Russ St between Howard St & Folsom St, into a vibrant space for recreation, culture, and engagement. Join us from 12 PM to 4 PM.

Filipino American History Month Celebration at City Hall
October 23rd, join Mayor Daniel Lurie for this annual party celebrating the history and legacy of the Filipino community, starting at 5:30 pm at City Hall.

Tasty Trails 3rd x South Park Walking Tour
Friday, Oct 24, join SOMA Pilipinas for Tasty Trails, a one-mile self-guided walk through the Filipino Cultural Heritage District and enjoy Filipino food, historic sites, art and music.

"Sa Amin" Film Screening w SOMCAN
Thursday, October 2 | 8:00 am - 8:00 pm | Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
Come view the “Sa Amin: Our Place” documentary that tells the story of Filipinos in San Francisco’s South of Market, highlighting generations of community resilience against displacement.
Barrio Fiesta as Part of Filipino American Heritage Month
Saturday, October 11 | 12 pm - 5 pm
A vibrant barrio fiesta-style celebration in honor of Filipino American History Month! Pay tribute to the powerful legacy of Filipino boxing in SF and beyond. The event features demonstrations, crafts, food and more. Happening at Fulton Plaza, noon-5 pm. Families welcome.
MAKIBEKI - SOMA Pilipinas Pride w/ SF Community Health Center & FACINE
Sunday, October 12 | 12:00 PM 5:00 PM | Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
Join San Francisco Community Health Center’s The Lotus Project and Stop the Hate Program, SOMA Pilipinas, and FACINE for the inaugural SOMA Pilipinas Pride: MAKIBEKI.
They invite all groups to come in their favorite fabulous traditional Filipino outfits. Sign up as an organization contingent at the LINK IN BIO and bring your banners, or come individually as you are!
The SOMA Pilipinas Pride Procession will be followed by a Mini Pageant Program with a lineup of Filipinx performers and a Resource Fair.

Join the SF Bicycle Coalition for an ethno-tour on a bike through San Francisco’s very own Filipino cultural district, SoMa Pilipinas.
