Upcoming Homes for Veterans at 1035 Van Ness Avenue
In an October 17, 2025 press release Mayor Lurie announced plans to transform a former assisted living facility at 1035 Van Ness Avenue into a supportive housing community that will include 124 permanent homes for formerly homeless veterans, operated by Swords to Plowshares. The project will feature community spaces and onsite services such as mental health care, case management, and job training—providing veterans with housing and the support they need to thrive.
