There are over 500 programs in the Early Learning For All network that serve babies, toddlers, and young children. The network is San Francisco’s mixed delivery system for early learning and includes different types of programs, such as family child care homes, child care centers, Head Start and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) early education schools.
To join the network, these programs must have:
- Lessons and activities that are right for each child’s age
- Teachers who are trained and caring
- Safe and healthy classrooms
- Experience working closely with families to help their children succeed
Most San Francisco families can get free or low-cost child care and preschool at programs in the Early Learning For All network. It is simple to check if you qualify and to apply.
On top of that, 4-year-olds can attend Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for free through the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). To apply for TK, complete SFUSD’s online application.
