The summer programs on this list are free of charge for participants. Income or other requirements may have to be met in order to enroll your child. Please contact each program directly to learn more.
Aim High for High School
Aim High serves students in grades 5 through 8 who have limited access to summer academic enrichment. The program helps students build a love of learning, and prepares them for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.
Aim High still has available slots for their summer 2026 program at these sites:
- Bayview/Excelsior. The specific site is still being finalized.

Booker T. Washington Community Service Center's Freedom School Summer Program
Booker T. Washington Community Service Center's Freedom School Summer Program is for students entering Kindergarten through 8th grade in the 2026-2027 school year. Each day, students build strong reading skills through a proven program that is rooted in Black history, culture, and identity, helping young people feel proud of who they are and where they come from. Students also take part in hands-on activities like science, technology, engineering, and math projects, art, music, fitness, nutrition, and field trips. Along the way, they build confidence, form positive relationships, and grow as leaders in a supportive, welcoming community.
The Freedom School Summer Program will take place at 800 Presidio Avenue.
Chinatown YMCA's Power Scholars Academy
Power Scholars Academy (PSA) is a six-week summer program for students in grades 1 to 8 from low-income backgrounds. The program is designed to address summer learning loss through focused instruction in math and reading. In addition to academic support, the YMCA’s PSA program also promotes social and emotional development through field trips and enrichment activities.
Chinatown YMCA's Power Scholars Academy will take place at Gordon J. Lau Elementary School, 950 Clay Street.

Community Youth Center of San Francisco Summer Programs
Community Youth Center (CYC) offers six-week, full-day summer programs for elementary school students. The programs includes weekly field trips and hands-on activities, including literacy, arts, science, technology, engineering, and recreation, supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. The program is led by caring staff who build strong, consistent relationships with youth and families and support each child’s growth over time.
CYC's summer programs take place at three sites:
- Dianne Feinstein Elementary School, 2550 25th Avenue
- Jean Parker Elementary School, 840 Broadway
- George Moscone Elementary School, 2576 Harrison Street
Embarcadero YMCA - Treasure Island Community YMCA Summer Camps
Treasure Island Community YMCA Summer Camps serve children ages 4.5 to 11. Activities are planned to match each child’s age and skill level and are designed to keep campers engaged and having fun. Campers take part in field trips, arts and crafts, swimming, outdoor games, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities, and experiences that help build friendships.
To register for the Treasure Island Community YMCA Summer Camps, families must meet at least one of these requirements:
- Be a resident of Below Market Rate Housing on Treasure Island
- Be a Hope SF Resident
- Reside in public housing or housing developments
- Live in a single-room occupancy (SRO) unit
- Have children or youth in the foster care system
- Be a family experiencing unstable housing
Registration for Treasure Island Community YMCA Summer Camps will open in April 2026.

GLIDE Foundation's Summer Program
GLIDE’s summer program is a safe and welcoming place for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, especially for families who may need extra support. Kids take part in fun activities like art, cooking, sports, reading, and science projects. The program also teaches kids about health, kindness, and respecting others. There are special activities like LEGO building and soccer, and kids receive healthy meals each day.
GLIDE's summer program takes place at 434 Ellis Street.

Good Samaritan Family Resource Center - Vision Academy
The Vision Academy summer program provides academic support, health and wellness activities, and enrichment opportunities for children in grades kindergarten to 5. Students receive help with learning and skill development while also building social and emotional skills. Trained staff offer support in a safe and welcoming environment, using trauma-informed practices. The program includes activities in science, art, technology, sports, and recreation to support both physical and mental well-being.
The Vision Academy summer program takes place at 1311 Quesada Avenue.

Potrero Hill Neighborhood House's Summer in the City Program
Summer in the City exposes children to activities, neighborhoods, and culture beyond what they normally experience in everyday Potrero Hill life. Each day, three hours of academic enrichment is combined with four hours of excursions to places outside of Potrero Hill including theme parks, museums, swimming pools, kayak lessons, and nature. Children are taught how to use the Bay Area public transportation system, thus creating lifetime access to additional educational opportunities outside their own neighborhood.

Richmond District YMCA's Power Scholars Academy

Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation's Tenderloin After School Program
The Tenderloin After School Program (TASP) offers a safe and welcoming summer program for children and youth. Kids take part in fun, hands-on activities like art, cooking, and exploring nature, and teens can participate in special programs that help build confidence and creativity. Students also go on field trips to places like amusement parks, movies, and other exciting San Francisco destinations. TASP gives families a reliable place where young people can learn, make friends, and have fun in a supportive community.
TASP takes place at 225 Eddy Street.

UP ON TOP Summer Program
The UP ON TOP Summer Program serves low-income San Francisco students currently in kindergarten through 5th grade. The program includes morning academic learning and afternoon activities such as field trips, recreation, enrichment, and reading. Families are asked to apply only if their child can attend the full day, every day. Priority is given to low-income families, students continuing into the 2026–2027 after-school program, and families who live in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
The UP ON TOP Summer Program takes place at the Tenderloin Recreation Center, 570 Ellis Street.

Asian Pacific American Community Center
Asian Pacific American Community Center's summer program is for students in grades 1 through 8. The program includes educational and recreational activities, weekly field trips, lunch and snacks, and support with summer homework. A one-time registration fee is required based on income.

Buena Vista Child Care Summer Camp
Buena Vista Child Care Summer Camp is open to children entering kindergarten through 9th grade. Activities include science, technology, engineering, art, and math, cooking, sports, project-based learning, and other enrichment opportunities. The program provides a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack, with the option for campers to bring their own food. The cost is $400 per week, with a 15% discount for a second child. Extended care is available for an additional weekly fee. Financial assistance is available, and Children’s Council is accepted.

Cameron House Summer Program
The Cameron House Summer Program offers a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for youth in grades 1–8. Students participate in a variety of activities including academic enrichment, arts and crafts, science, technology, engineering, and math projects, outdoor play, field trips and heritage-based activities such as dragon and lion dance. The program focuses on building social skills, fostering creativity, and supporting overall youth development.

Charity Cultural Services Center Summer Camp
Charity Cultural Services Center offers an eight-week summer program for students entering grades 1 through 6, running from June 8 to August 7, 2026. The program provides a well-rounded experience that combines academic learning, arts and crafts, and physical activities in a safe and supportive environment. Students also take part in weekly field trips that offer opportunities to explore new places and learn outside the classroom. The program is designed to be engaging, collaborative, and accessible for families. Tuition is $120 per week, with optional aftercare available for an additional $50 per week.

Children's After School Arts CASA Camp
CASA Camp is open to students entering kindergarten through 5th grade. The program focuses on building strong relationships and supporting social and emotional development through arts-based activities. Campers can choose from a variety of sessions, including cooking, fashion, creative arts, cultural activities, and movement. The program also includes a Wellness Center, where campers can receive support with social and emotional needs through activities such as emotional awareness, relaxation techniques, and play.
CASA Camp is located at Rooftop School's Twin Peaks campus, 443 Burnett Avenue.
Creativity Explored's Camp Imaginate
Camp Imaginate is an arts-based summer program for youth in grades 6 through 12, with a focus on inclusion for youth with disabilities. Campers explore a range of art forms, including painting, drawing, ceramics, fiber arts, and digital media. The program includes social and emotional learning, wellness activities such as yoga and movement, and field trips to local parks, galleries, and museums. Camp Imaginate provides a supportive environment with trained staff, low staff-to-camper ratios, and activities designed to meet a range of accessibility needs. Each session ends with a showcase of student artwork.
Camp Imaginate takes place at 3265 16th Street.
Filipino Education Center Galing Bata Summer Camp
Galing Bata Summer Camp is for students entering grades 1 through 9 from across San Francisco. The program offers a mix of activities that include arts, wellness, academics, and Filipino language and culture. Campers take part in field trips around San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. The program also focuses on building community and relationships, helping students form friendships and connections with peers and mentors.
Galing Bata Summer Camp takes place at the Children’s Creativity Museum, 221 4th Street.

Ingleside Community Center Out of School Time Program
The Ingleside Community Center Out of School Time summer program offers elementary school students academic enrichment, sports, arts, field trips, and much more.

Mission YMCA's Mission Achievers Summer Program
The Mission Achievers summer program is designed to support youth’s personal, social, and academic development. Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to strengthen and develop new friendships, gain leadership skills, explore their personal and educational interests, and build lifelong skills.

Samoan Community Development Center's Pacific Islander Youth Alliance Summer Program
Now in it's 30th year, the Pacific Islander Youth Alliance (PIYA) summer program is for youth ages 5-18. The program provides academic support and incorporates a cultural core, fostering an understanding of Pacific Islander heritage and the vibrant tapestry of Pasifika cultures through enrichment activities.
Registration for the PIYA summer program will open on May 4, 2026.

Southeast Asian Development Center's Southeast Asian Academic Support Summer Program
The Southeast Asian Academic Support Summer Program focuses on equipping Southeast Asian youth with the critical tools and resources they need to successfully transition into adulthood. The program provides academic assistance, enrichment activities, and more.

The Cross Cultural Family Center's School Age Summer Program
The Cross Cultural Family Center provides a space where children can explore, make choices, and use their imagination. Children learn and play with others and get support from caring teachers. These experiences help children build confidence and grow their social, emotional, and thinking skills, which prepares them for school.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center's Camp Kroc
Camp Kroc is a summer program for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Activities include art, science, technology, engineering, and math, and creative play, with weekly themes and hands-on learning to support curiosity and engagement. The program provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can build friendships and develop communication skills.

Wah Mei School's Wah Mei-zing Summer Camp
The Wah Mei-zing Summer Camp focuses on youth development and provides opportunities for children in grades kindergarten to 6th grade to build leadership skills, form positive relationships, and explore new interests. The program uses project-based learning with weekly themes, such as ocean or space, to keep students engaged. Activities include STEM projects, community-building, service learning, Chinese language and culture, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, games, and songs. Campers also take part in field trips to locations such as the beach and Golden Gate Park, as well as special events like picnics, performances, and a camping trip for students in grades 4 through 6.

Beacon Community School summer programs
Beacon Community School summer programs are only available to students who attend SFUSD schools with a Beacon program.
Students who do not attend a school with a Beacon program cannot enroll in a Beacon summer program, and students can only enroll in the Beacon summer program at their own school.
