Public Health Services
Disease Prevention & Control (DPC)
We protect the health of San Francisco residents and visitors through public health clinics.
Environmental Health
We help San Franciscans live and work safely by making sure our local businesses, restaurants, homes, and air and water sources meet health requirements.
San Francisco Public Health Lab
The San Francisco Public Health Laboratory is a CLIA-certified diagnostic testing laboratory that provides testing support to San Francisco.
Research, Learning & Development
Center on Substance Use and Health
We study and support pharmacologic, behavioral, and system interventions addressing substance use and related health outcomes.
Bridge HIV
We provide global leadership in HIV prevention, research, and education.
Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI)
We support DPH programs and objectives by fostering a culture of learning, trust and innovation.
Surveillance, Data & Analytics
Center for Data Science (CDS)
We advise the city's core public health services through the use of data.
Applied Research, Community Health Epidemiology, and Surveillance (ARCHES)
We conduct public health surveillance on communicable diseases such as HIV, STIs, Hepatitis A, B and C, Tuberculosis and other reportable diseases.
Community Health
Office of Equity and Community Engagement (OECE)
The Office of Equity and Community Engagement partners with other Department of Public Health programs to advance citywide health priorities, including overdose prevention, communicable disease response, and workforce development.
Community Health Equity and Promotion (CHEP)
We integrate the core public health functions of informing, engaging, educating and empowering community.
Community Health Reports and Plans
These reports and plans aim to provide a deeper understanding of the health landscape in San Francisco and to guide the city's collective efforts to address the root causes of health disparities
