CDC Health Advisory: Ebola Disease Outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda
Disease Prevention and ControlOn May 19, CDC issued a Health Advisory on an Ebola disease outbreak in the DRC and Uganda caused by the Bundibugyo species of Ebola. There is no specific vaccine or treatment for this species of Ebola. The CDC Health Advisory summarizes CDC recommendations for health departments, clinical laboratories, and healthcare workers about potential Ebola disease case identification, testing, and biosafety considerations in clinical laboratories. SFDPH is following updates from CDC and CDPH closely and will provide further information as needed.
