Request for alice griffith services grant extension
This request would provide $1,152,000 to Bayview Hunters Point Multiservice Senior Services (BHPMSS) to support residents of Alice Griffith for three years, from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.
Alice Griffith is a group of five housing projects with 338 homes, built in four phases as part of the HOPE SF program. These homes serve very low‑income families and are owned by McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS).
The new funding would continue an existing grant that the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) already has with BHPMSS. The services paid for by this grant help residents stay stable in their housing. They include help with rent payments, completing required income paperwork, submitting requests for reasonable accommodations, reporting changes, filing maintenance requests, housekeeping support, budgeting, basic needs assistance, information and referrals, and help resolving conflicts.
Normally, some of these costs would be covered by the project’s operating budget, but the project is currently facing serious financial and maintenance challenges and cannot afford them. MOHCD wants to make sure residents continue receiving these services while the owner works on long‑term plans to stabilize the property.

Request for additional predevelopment financing for 772 pacific avenue
In September 2025, the sponsor named, Chinatown Community Development Center was awarded Multifamily Housing Program (MHP) funds from the California Department of Housing and Community Development in the amount of $32,000,000 and intends to apply to Califonia Debt Limit Allocation Committee and Tax Credit Allocation Committee for bonds and tax credits for round 2 in May 2026. To submit the application for tax credits in round 2, the sponsor will need additional predevelopment funds, but market rate short term loans have a high interest rate over 6%. At the same time, the Mayor's office of housing and community development must enter into a loan agreement for HOME funds by December 31, 2025, or lose the funds.
