Jacqueline was born and raised in the Richmond District and is currently a senior at George Washington High School. She has always been passionate about public health and youth advocacy in the city. She began to serve her community through volunteering at the VA hospital and later became an intern, learning the importance of community mental health and wellness. At school, she is involved in advocacy clubs, such as Students Against Sexual Assault and Washington Positive Peer Pressure, where she takes a leadership role in raising awareness about safety and health within her school. She has learned how to contribute to her community through food fundraisers and youth outreach events. Being a part of other advisory councils, such as UCSF and the American Heart Association, has taught her how to make a difference in local public health issues. During her free time, Jacqueline enjoys writing, checking out new cafes in her district, and volunteering at local city marathons. During her term as a citywide youth commissioner, she hopes to focus on school safety and enhancing wellness services in public schools.
