Law School Internship Program
Our Internship Program exposes law students to the rewarding practice of municipal law. Students enrolled in an accredited law school can apply. We place each intern on a legal team focused on a specific area of law. We aim to pair students with a team that aligns with their professional interests.

Deputy City Attorneys supervise and mentor interns on a variety of legal research and writing projects. Depending on their assignments, interns may attend client meetings, trials, and hearings. Interns also take part in events, tours, and lectures.
All legal internship positions are unpaid. Contact your law school to check if you qualify to earn academic credit.
Accepting Applications for Fall 2026
- Application deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026. We will continue to accept applications until all positions are filled.
- Mandatory orientation: Monday, August 24, 2026
- Program: Monday, August 24, 2026, to Friday, November 13, 2026. Interns work a minimum of 12 hours per week for the length of the program. Interns may work remotely 1 day per week.

Paralegal Internship Program
Our Paralegal Internship Program provides hands-on experience in a civil law office. Students enrolled in an ABA-approved paralegal studies program can apply. Students must also complete classes in legal writing and research, and civil litigation before they apply.
Experienced paralegals supervise and mentor interns on a variety of projects. Tasks may include document collection, cite checking briefs, attending court hearings, and more.
