Our Office has more than 20 legal teams that host interns. The teams advise City departments and represent San Francisco in legal matters. Interns on advice teams may draft legislation, work on contracts and transactions, attend client meetings, and research and review legal advice. Interns on litigation teams may do research, attend court hearings, and help attorneys get ready for trial.
The teams listed below host interns:
- The Airport Team focuses on aviation law and real estate and gives legal advice to SFO and the Airport Commission. (Advice)
- The Code Enforcement Team works with City departments to fix health and safety problems and address public nuisances. (Litigation)
- The Complex and Affirmative Litigation Team works on large, complex legal cases at the state and federal level. (Litigation)
- The Construction and Public Contracting Team advises City departments on contracts and major construction projects. (Advice/Litigation)
- The Dependency and Mental Health Team handles court cases involving dependency and mental health. (Advice/Litigation)
- The Energy and Telecommunications Team advises City departments on energy and telecommunications matters. (Advice/Litigation)
- The Ethics and Elections Team advises City departments on ethics and election laws. (Advice)
- The Government Team drafts City laws and advises San Francisco’s elected officials and departments. (Advice)
