Overview

Community Development leads MOHCD’s efforts to strengthen communities, support neighborhood stability, and connect residents to essential services. Through strategic investments and cross-departmental partnerships, the Division helps prevent displacement and advance equitable outcomes across San Francisco.

Our core responsibilities are to:

  • Administer local, state, and federal funding
  • Manage grants and strengthen nonprofit partners
  • Lead and coordinate community development initiatives
  • Help residents remain housed and rooted in their communities
  • Build and sustain neighborhood-based community infrastructure
