Dr. Alfredo Huante

Dr. Alfredo Huante leads research and evaluation for the Department on the Status of Women. In this role, he conducts research projects, produces reports, and tracks and analyzes data to support the Department’s policy goals. He liaises with other city agencies and community groups to ensure that the Department's data and work accurately reflect the priorities and needs of women, girls, and non-binary individuals in San Francisco.
Dr. Huante led the Department's first Community Needs Assessment in 2024, which has set the groundwork for the department's future advocacy and program goals. He drives the creation of the mandated reports: the Gender Analysis of San Francisco Commissions and Boards and Representation of Women in City Property. Additionally, he manages the Department's impact tracking and reporting requirements.
Dr. Huante has a master’s degree in urban planning and a Ph.D. in sociology.
