Our mission
The Veterans Affairs Council advises the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors. We talk about jobs, money, health, and social services for veterans.
Our Council Members
The Council has 13 members. Council members are veterans of the US Armed Forces, with one seat reserved for a spouse, registered/certified domestic partner, or widow/widower of a veteran. All Council members live in San Francisco.
The Board of Supervisors appoints 9 Council Members.
- At least 1 must have a physical disability from military service.
- At least 1 must be a spouse, registered/certified domestic partner, or widow/widower of a veteran.
The Mayor appoints 4 Commissioners.
- At least 1 must have a physical disability from military service.
