As per the 2025-2026 Youth Commission Bylaws (PDF), the Transformative Justice Committee is a standing issue-based committee of five to seven Youth Commissioners.

The Committee is responsible for:

(a) Alternatives to youth incarceration;
(b) Expanding language access and making sure it's accessible for families across San Francisco;
(c) Supporting immigrant communities with critical resources; and
(d) Addressing environmental injustices in the Bayview and other historically marginalized communities.
