City employees can now take free, on-demand AI training through a new partnership with InnovateUS. The courses build skills and confidence in using generative AI tools like Copilot Chat responsibly.
The courses are available to staff through the SF Learning portal

SF AI Week
SF AI Week is a citywide event that brings together staff, researchers, community members, and civic technologists to explore how San Francisco can lead in responsible, public-interest AI.
The event is a partnership between the Department of Technology and the San Francisco Public Library, and will feature a program that includes the One City One Book author talk by Dr. Fei-Fei Li. More information here
The 2025 program will include:
- A dedicated day for City staff to engage and learn
- Public talks on ethics, transparency, and community impact
- Technology workshops for the public
