SLP swallow

Our speech‑language pathologists help patients improve communication, cognition, and swallowing so they can safely and confidently engage in daily life. As part of the San Francisco Department of Home Health, our speech therapy team provides targeted, evidence‑based care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Communication Support

Therapists work with patients experiencing speech or language difficulties due to stroke, neurological conditions, injury, or illness. They provide exercises and techniques to improve clarity, expression, comprehension, and overall communication.

Cognitive Rehabilitation

For patients experiencing memory loss, attention challenges, or problem‑solving difficulties, speech therapists offer structured cognitive exercises and strategies to support daily functioning and safety.

Swallowing Therapy (Dysphagia Management)

Therapists assess swallowing ability and provide exercises, positioning techniques, and dietary recommendations to reduce choking risk and support safe eating and drinking at home.

Voice Therapy

Patients with voice changes or vocal strain receive guidance on healthy voice use, breath support, and techniques to improve vocal quality.

Education & Caregiver Training

Therapists teach patients and families how to use communication tools, memory strategies, safe swallowing techniques, and compensatory methods that support daily life.
