Her passions center on immigration rights, student advocacy, language access, and addressing public health disparities, with a focus on bridging gaps between youth, immigrant families, and government institutions.

At Lowell, Shoon serves as Student Body President after three years as Class President, representing over 2,500 students in discussions with school administration. She is also a Varsity Parliamentary Debater and Varsity Captain.

Beyond Lowell, Shoon serves as the Student Delegate to the SFUSD Board of Education, aiming to amplify youth voices. Additionally, Shoon is actively involved in her community as the Executive Director of Dear Asian Youth San Francisco (DAYSF), a chapter of a global nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and empowering Asian youth through community events, local initiatives, and organizational outreach. She also serves on the San Francisco Sugary Drinks Distributary Tax Advisory Committee.

On the Youth Commission, Shoon strives to advocate for immigrant and youth communities, prioritizing language access, education equity, public health outcomes, and youth civic engagement.
