Compliance: Drink Spiking and Sexual Assault Prevention Laws
- Printable signage with a trauma-informed approach and nightlife culture design to encourage posting as required by state law.
- Updates on state and local legislation and regulations.
Venue Staff Training
- We will provide specialized training, free of cost, designed to empower staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, intervene, respond to, and prevent instances of sexual harassment, assault, or drink spiking.
- Training modules cover topics such as the Spectrum of Sexual Violence in Nightlife, Bystander Intervention Strategies Adapted for Nightlife Environments, Risks for Perpetuation & Prevention Tools, de-escalation techniques, and appropriate communication strategies.
Protocol Development
- We will help you create tailored protocols to enhance staff awareness and safety in your venue.
- Protocols may include procedures for handling incidents of harassment, drink spiking, or other sexual misconduct, staff awareness on roles and responsibilities, communicating with patrons, and working with law enforcement when necessary.
Culture Shift: Creating Safer Environments
We will help you develop policies and messaging that promote respect, safety, and zero tolerance for sexual misconduct, educating staff and patrons about creating a fun and safe environment for everyone.
Reporting Tools for Improved Response and Prevention
We will help you develop and implement easy-to-use materials for documenting and reporting incidents through SHARP (when law enforcement involvement is not necessary). Incident data will help increase and improve resources and awareness campaigns.
Resources and Additional Support
The program offers ongoing support through updates on best practices, annual recertification procedures, and access to additional training sessions as needed.

Our objective is to enhance San Francisco’s nightlife spaces and ensure they, and those who participate, thrive – when people feel safe in your venue, they will return.
By providing free training, support, and resources, our goal is to help venues comply with anti-drink spiking laws and become Culture-Shift Champions to end sexual violence in our nightlife spaces, making San Francisco a model of what a safer and thriving nightlife looks like.
