PROFILE
Riya Patel
2023 MCAH Epidemiologist Intern

I am a trained dentist from India, driven by a passion to make a positive impact on oral health. To expand my knowledge and expertise, I received a Master of Public Health (MPH) with concentration in Community and Public Health Practice (CPHP) at University of San Francisco. During my time there, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where I actively contributed to a significant project centered on Strategic Plan indicators for CavityFree SF.
My keen interest lies in addressing oral health disparities, with a particular focus on children in marginalized communities. I firmly believe in the importance of promoting equitable access to quality dental care for all.
Through my research and hands-on experience, I have witnessed firsthand the pressing need to tackle the unique challenges faced by underserved population.
My dedication to improving oral health outcomes for vulnerable children drives me every day. By combining my clinical dentistry training with a comprehensive understanding of community and public health practice, I strive to create a meaningful change. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to achieve optimal oral health. Together, we can work towards a future where every child enjoys the benefits of a healthy and confident smile.
