A PhotoVoice project on the lived experiences of Arab, Muslim, and Sikh Americans in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This report contains a summary of the testimony and remarks received at the San Francisco Human Rights Commission hearing, "Combating Employment Discrimination after 9/11", held on October 7, 2008, in the Milton Marks Conference Center at the California State Building in San Francisco.  

This report memorializes the September 23, 2010 hearing focused on community concerns of surveillance, racial and religious profiling of Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian communities and potential reactivation of SFPD intelligence gathering.

This report chronicles the detention of a group of Iranians (including children) travelling to the San Francisco Bay Area with valid Visas who were refused entry at the San Francisco International Airport. They were informed their Visas had been revoked during or immediately preceding their flights, interrogated, handcuffed, and incarcerated in the Santa Clara County Jail.

What is Human Trafficking?  Exploring the Scope and Impact of the Californians Against Sexual Exploitation (CASE) Act

The San Francisco Human Rights Commission (“Commission”) is the department of the City and County of San Francisco that enforces its nondiscrimination laws. In addition, the Commission investigates issues of concern as they pertain to protected categories and the impact of discrimination. On October 12, 2006, the San Francisco Human Rights Commission held a public hearing to identify and investigate concerns facing Native American people in San Francisco. 

An initial series of roundtables was held on February 10, 17, and 24, 2016 to discuss the original compliance survey leading to the First Year Report, the First Year Report itself, and best practices for FCO compliance generally. With these considerations in mind, HRC drafted a new survey to build on its previous data collection. Additional roundtables were held on September 14 and 21, 2016 to discuss the new survey. A large number of affordable housing providers, representing the vast majority of affordable housing in the City, attended at least one roundtable.
