Reroofing/Signs/Awning Permits Moving to PermitSF portal & New All-Electric Construction Requirement

Dear Customers,

On June 22, reroofing, signs and awning permits are moving over to the PermitSF portal. Instead of having to come into the Permit Center, you’ll just register an account, apply online and download your permit once it’s approved.

Contractors are strongly encouraged to validate your contractor’s license in advance so you don’t have to go through that process each time you apply. Taking care of it now will save you time down the road.

To help you with this transition, we’re hosting an online webinar to go step-by-step through the registration, contractor validation and permit application process on the portal. We’ll also save time for any questions you have about the new system.

New All-Electric Construction Requirement

Beginning July 1, some renovation projects in San Francisco will be required to transition to all-electric systems if the project qualifies as a major renovation and includes major upgrades to the building’s heating or hot-water systems.
