Report autonomous vehicle incidents

Let us know about any incidents you saw involving driverless cars.

What to know

Response time

These reports will be collected and reviewed for data analysis. No immediate action will be taken on these reports. 

What to do

If the incident is in progress or requires immediate emergency response, call 911 

1. Fill out a form

Describe the incident involving the autonomous vehicle. Include as many details as you can including:

  • When and where the incident occurred
  • What and who was involved. For example, other vehicles or pedestrians. 
  • What company the autonomous vehicle belongs to. For example, Waymo or Zoox. If unknown, include a vehicle description or license plate number.

Including detailed time, time, location and any photos or videos facilitates review of incidents.

2. Track your case

After you report, you will get a tracking number from 311. You can use this number, and your email address if provided, to track your case online.
