Occupational Health Services (OHS) has implemented a new TB Flexibility Program for employees working at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) effective January 12, 2023.
TB Flexibility Program
Occupational Health Services (OHS) has implemented a new TB Flexibility Program for employees working at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).
The program focuses annual TB surveillance for employees with a higher risk of TB exposure or increased likelihood of transmission to vulnerable populations. Employees working in the following areas are required to participate in the annual TB screening program, with symptom review and TST:
- 4A Skilled Nursing facility clinical and ancillary staff
- 4C Hem-Onc Infusion clinical staff
- Anesthesiology clinical staff
- Dialysis unit clinical staff (Inpatient and Outpatient units)
- Emergency Department clinical staff
- Microbiology laboratory staff
- OTOP (Methadone Clinic) clinical staff
- Pathology clinical staff
- Pulmonary clinicians and ancillary staff
- Respiratory therapy clinical staff
- TB Clinic clinical and ancillary staff
- Urgent Care Center clinical staff
Staff not identified in the group above will continue to complete an annual symptom screener.
OHS will continue to offer annual TB Skin Testing (TST)/Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) tests to any employee who requests it, regardless of the department you work in.

Occupational Health Services (OHS) has implemented a new TB Flexibility Program for employees working at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).

Get a TB Test
Employees
For annual TB surveillance, TB Skin Testing (TST)/Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) Testing is offered daily, except on Thursdays and holidays. Call us to schedule an appointment or drop-in during our TB drop-in hours.
TB Drop-in hours: 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM daily, except Thursdays and holidays
DPH New Hires
A QuantiFERON (QFT) blood test is used for the TB surveillance requirement (February 2024 update).
