Obai A. Rambo-is a fourth-generation San Franciscan and a dedicated public servant committed to advancing equity, opportunity, and accountability in the City’s homelessness response. With more than 17 years of experience in government and government relations, he brings deep expertise in navigating public systems, building cross-sector partnerships, and aligning community needs with sustainable solutions.

Mr. Rambo serves on UCSF’s Workforce Development team, where he leads strategic initiatives that expand access to healthcare and behavioral health careers for San Franciscans. His work focuses on creating inclusive career pathways that strengthen both the local workforce and the broader social fabric of the Bay Area.

Throughout his career, he has forged partnerships across city agencies, educational institutions, and community-based organizations to advance initiatives that foster stability and economic mobility. As a Commissioner, Obai is committed to ensuring that San Francisco’s homelessness system is transparent, compassionate, and accountable — grounded in evidence-based practices and guided by the belief that every resident deserves dignity, safety, and the chance to thrive.
