SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, November 2, 2026 – The Department of Elections will open 501 neighborhood polling places across San Francisco from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, to provide in-person voting and ballot drop-off services.

“Every election, community partners across San Francisco step forward to help make voting accessible,” said Director John Arntz. “Schools, firehouses, community centers, local businesses, and residents who volunteer their garages and other spaces as polling sites all play an essential role. Their support gives voters convenient access to voting services close to home. On Election Day, voters can visit our polling places to return their vote-by-mail ballots, vote in person, receive language assistance, or use accessible voting tools.”

Voters may drop off their vote-by-mail ballots at any of San Francisco’s 501 polling places.

For in-person voting, each polling place will offer ballots with contests specific to its precinct. Although any eligible San Franciscan may cast a provisional ballot at any polling place in the city, only votes on contests applicable to the voter’s residential address will be counted. Voters planning to vote in person can locate their assigned polling place by:

Last month, the Department mailed multilingual notices to voters whose assigned polling places had changed. On Election Day, multilingual signs at former polling locations will direct voters to their new polling places and include a QR code linking to location details.

Voters with questions about voting options or other election matters are encouraged to contact the Department as early as possible so staff can provide assistance before the polls close.
