The Department of Elections Releases Preliminary Results Report #6 and Update on the Number of Ballots Left to Count for the June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, June 5, 2026 – Today, the Department of Elections issued the sixth preliminary election results reports of votes cast in the June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election.

The Department must still process and count approximately 93,300 ballots. This estimate includes:

  • Vote-by-mail ballots: 87,000
  • Provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center): 6,300

The Department will be closed this weekend, June 6 and 7, and will not release preliminary results reports.

The Department will next release preliminary results reports and an estimate of the number of remaining ballots on Monday, June 8, at 4 p.m., and which will be posted at www.sfelections.gov/results,

When the Department issues results reports, Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from members of the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall.
