City Attorney Chiu statement on the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein

SAN FRANCISCO (September 29, 2023) — City Attorney David Chiu issued the following statement today on the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein:

“Few people have had a greater role in shaping San Francisco, California, and our country.

Senator Dianne Feinstein was an iconic trailblazer who lifted our city up after incredible tragedies. She was a fierce advocate for protecting communities from gun violence. She took a principled stance in her campaign to release the CIA torture report. These are just a few of her many accomplishments that made our communities and lives better.

Her legacy will live on, but for today, our thoughts are with her family, friends, and staff.”
