Career Technical Education in the Juvenile Justice Center

In partnership with the San Francisco County Office of Education, the Juvenile Probation Department launched its first ever cohort of Career Technical Education (CTE) training in the Secure Youth Treatment Facility (SYTF) units of the Juvenile Justice Center. Certified instructors in Urban Agriculture and Culinary Arts teach two mornings per week for eight week sessions. Young people walk away with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certifications, field specific certifications, and work experience that prepares them for reentry.
