The Department of Building Inspection (DBI) is instituting a new, mandatory special inspections conflict of interest attestation.
Starting February 5, special inspection report submissions will be required to include the following language beneath the signature of the person signing the document:
By signing this document, I am confirming that the information provided is objective, competent, and independent from the contractor responsible for the work being inspected.
This language is also available on our website for your convenience.
Failure to include this attestation will result in rejection of the special inspection report submission.
Acting Deputy Director for Inspection Services, Matt Greene, will be speaking about this new requirement at our next Public Advisory Forum later today, January 24.
