New Online Public Works Permitting Portal and Customer Survey Closes Tomorrow
January 29, 2026
Dear Customers,
Great news! Today, the Department of Public Works is launching a new, online permitting system - the Public Works Portal - for these permits:
- Street Space
- Sidewalk Repair
- Inspection of Right-of-Way Conformity
- Temporary Occupancy
The new system lets you apply for your Public Works permits online and track the status remotely. There is no need to venture to the Permit Center unless you want assistance from staff. You can also view plan checker comments online instantly - no more chasing updates through emails or phone calls. You can also message your plan checker directly in the new system.
To get started with the new system, you'll register with your personal or business information, and you're all set. No more filling out the same forms repeatedly. Registration opens today.
For more information, visit the announcement webpage.
