Acceptable Specimen Type(s) for Testing - Buccal swabs, oropharyngeal (throat) swabs
Transport / Collection Medium - Universal transport medium / viral transport medium (using the Dacron swab included in the kit)
Storage and Preservation of Specimen - Refrigerate (at 2 to 8°C) until transported to the laboratory. Ship on cold packs. Sample must be received at the laboratory within 72 hours of collection. If longer storage is necessary, store sample at -70°C or colder.
Minimum Volume Required - 1 milliliter
Additional Collection Instructions - None
Additional Required Information - Buccal source preferred. Urine is not an approved specimen for this PCR assay.
