Overview

This is the standard monthly public meeting of the Sheriff’s Department Oversight Board, held in person. Members of the Oversight Board will be present at the meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the proceedings and may provide public comment either in person or remotely, including individuals with disabilities who require reasonable accommodations.

Approval of Minutes

Consideration and possible approval of the March 6, 2026, Board Meeting Minutes.

Introduction of New Board Members

The Board welcomes Carla Cuevas and Gale Rosboro, newly appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Presentation from the San Francisco Sheriff's Office

Chief Ramirez will brief the Board on the 24/7 law enforcement sobering facility. Members who visited the recent open house are invited to share their feedback and observations.

Board Member Report

Member Ortiz will report on her presentation to the Southeast Community Facility Commission at their March 25, 2026, meeting.

Following Member Ortiz’s presentation, President Palmer will give a presentation.

Sheriff's Inspector General Recruitment: Liaison Update

The Board will discuss the recruitment process for the Sheriff’s Inspector General, specifically regarding a possible change in the designated liaison between the Board and the executive search firm.

Election of Vice President

Nomination and election of a Board member to fill the Vice-Presidential vacancy for the remainder of the current term.

Future Agenda Items

Members will engage in a discussion regarding possible agenda topics for upcoming meetings.

General Public Comment

Members of the public are invited to speak to the Board regarding matters that were not included in this afternoon's agenda, provided that these topics fall within the Board's subject matter jurisdiction. Speakers are requested to direct their comments to the Board collectively, rather than to individual Board Members, Department staff, or SFSO personnel.
