Overview

The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, in partnership with the Local Homelessness Coordinating Board, is hosting a public input session to help inform the planning and implementation of San Francisco’s 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count.

The Point-in-Time Count is a snapshot of the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night and is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The count includes both sheltered and unsheltered individuals and is a tool for shaping local strategies and measuring progress toward reducing homelessness.

This community input session is an opportunity for residents, service providers, advocates, and people with lived experience to share feedback and help improve how the 2026 PIT Count is conducted. Your insights will help ensure the count is accurate, inclusive, and reflective of the realities of homelessness in our city.
