MOHCD staff seek approval of new Small Sites Program Guidelines which seek to update program and funding requirements in response to current market conditions. Updates to the guidelines align with the City’s Preservation Goals of Community Stabilization, Geographic Equity, Housing Affordability, and Maxing the City’s Impact. The new guidelines also expand on the long-term Small Sites Program goals of preventing the displacement of San Franciscans, removing vulnerable properties from the speculative market, while increasing the supply of permanently affordable rental housing, and creating financially stable, self-sustaining housing that serves multiple generations of low to moderate income households by ensuring properties remain operationally and financially healthy for future generations.
