Your Stay

Recovering from a life-altering trauma or illness often requires inpatient rehabilitation care.

Laguna Honda’s coordinated rehabilitation program is designed to improve your ability to perform daily living tasks and reach your highest level of independence.

We begin with a thorough assessment and a personal, goal-oriented treatment plan developed with you and your family. The length of your stay depends on your goals, progress and level of independence at admission.

Rehabilitation Therapy: Examples of Goals

• Gaining independence in daily activities.
• Working towards independence with walking or wheelchair use.
• Addressing cognitive abilities that include comprehension, expression, interaction, problem solving and memory.
• Optimizing swallowing ability.
• Performing self-medication management.
• Increasing awareness and access to community resources.

How to Qualify

You can qualify for acute rehabilitation services if you:

• Require Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy treatment
• Are participating and making progress in therapy
• Are able to tolerate 3 hours of therapy per day
• Have a concrete plan for where you will go after leaving Laguna Honda Hospital
