Keontae Clark
Council Member

As a long time resident and native to San Francisco, Keontae Clark began a career in 2004, as a Union Carpenter with local union 22 in San Francisco, eventually transferring to Local Union 68L, Drywall/ Lathers Union until 2010. In 2011 Keontae experienced a life-changing/ life-altering experience which resulted in a spinal cord injury. Being completely paralyzed from the waist down, Keontae had to transition from walking to being in a wheelchair and learning a new way of living with support from family.
In 2012 Keontae learned to operate a vehicle again and went on to obtain a BSIS Guard Card in 2013 to become a Security Guard working, at different events and venues in the Bay Area for the next 4 years. In 2017, Keontae received a Certificate of Completion from the Mission Hiring Hall CAPSA /Construction Management Program at the City College of San Francisco.
In 2019, Keontae was one of the first employees to work for the Golden State Warriors as an elevator operator when they opened their sports arena until 2022. Keontae obtained a license in Real Estate with the DOR (Department of Real Estate)/ SFAR San Francisco Association of Realtors) in 2021 and began a secondary occupation as a real estate agent until 2025, to be continued. Keontae's main goal is to assist people with Disabilities with finding accessible housing and to also help with housing the unhoused occupants of San Francisco. Keontae began working with Urban Alchemy in the Spring of 2022 as an elevator operator stationed at the BART in San Francisco and also worked at different sites including a residential site for community members with disabilities, homelessness issues, substance use disorders, and mental health issues and now currently, the New Oasis located in the Tenderloin community.
In 2024, Keontae was one of the first to be selected to recieve a ground breaking Exoskeleton device covered by Medical/ Medicare with the company REWalk Robotics which included months of extensive training. This technology is used to benefit a person with a spinal cord injury and limited mobility, allowing them to walk again. Keontae has alot of involvement in the community in the city of San Francisco and has often shown support to the homeless community by distributing personal care supplies and hygiene essentials. In August of 2025 Keontae obtained a Certificate of Completion in Behavioral Health from Healthright360 to assist and support members of the community that are seeking help with substance abuse disorder and also offering many other services.
