PROFILE
Isaac Langford
SMC, Seat 7

I am a former member of the Shelter Monitoring Committee, reappointed by the Homelessness Oversight Commission, with a continued commitment to advocacy and accountability. I joined the Committee to help ensure that unhoused and unsheltered individuals—especially those who often go unheard—have a strong, informed voice represented at the table.
As someone who was formerly homeless in San Francisco, I bring lived experience to this work. I understand firsthand the challenges faced by people navigating the shelter system and other safety-net services. Today, I am a single Black father caring for my son. We are survivors of a domestic violence situation. These experiences have shaped my perspective and strengthened my resolve to advocate with compassion, clarity, and purpose.
I strive to make the best of every situation and to use my personal journey to support and uplift unhoused individuals, low-income residents, and families in crisis. My goal on the Shelter Monitoring Committee is to promote dignity, transparency, and equity, while holding systems accountable to the people they are meant to serve.
