Get technical assistance as an Equity Applicant

Equity Applicants can get support for legal services, permitting and grant support, workforce development, and business development.

What to do

Bar Association of San Francisco

The Office of Cannabis partners with the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) and BASF’s Cannabis Law Section to provide San Francisco’s verified equity applicants with free legal services primarily focused in the areas of business formation, contract review, compliance review, and guidance on permitting and licensing.  Legal services specifically related to business disputes between parties are outside of the scope of this program. However, the LRIS may connect callers inquiring about disputed matters with private referrals to qualified attorneys on a fee basis.

If you are a verified equity applicant and interested in learning more, please contact the LRIS at

Golden Gate University Cannabis Law Clinic

The OOC partners with Golden Gate Law School's Cannabis Law Clinic (CLC) to provide verified equity applicants with free legal services. Areas of CLC support may include (i) expungements; (ii) permitting; (iii) contract review; (iv) compliance; and (v) intellectual property.

Prospective equity applicants seeking to get verified may also contact CLC for support.

To get started, fill out this intake form. CLC will take clients on a first-come-first serve basis. Questions? Email Alejandro Rodriguez at
