The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count
Communities that receive federal funding for homelessness services are required to conduct a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count at least once every two years. The count helps measure how many people are experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness nationwide.
San Francisco’s next PIT Count will take place early in the morning on January 29, 2026.
