ENTERTAINMENT COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 26-01

RESOLUTION TO DISCONTINUE REMOTE PUBLIC COMMENT AT MEETINGS OF THE ENTERTAINMENT COMMISSION EXCEPT AS LEGALLY REQUIRED TO ENABLE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN SUCH MEETINGS

WHEREAS, on February 7, 2023, the Entertainment Commission adopted a resolution authorizing remote public comment participation to continue during Commission hearings in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency and related public health orders expiring; and

WHEREAS, the City and County of San Francisco’s COVID-19 public health emergency declaration and associated emergency orders expired on February 28, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the Entertainment Commission has resumed fully in-person public hearings at San Francisco City Hall, Room 416, and has determined that in-person public participation remains the primary method for providing public comment; and

WHEREAS, the Commission remains committed to accessibility and will continue to provide reasonable accommodations consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable City policies; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Entertainment Commission hereby discontinues remote public comment participation during Commission hearings; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that members of the public seeking a reasonable accommodation under the ADA may request remote public comment access through the Commission Secretary or designated staff in advance of the hearing, consistent with established accommodation procedures; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that this policy shall take effect at the next regularly scheduled Entertainment Commission meeting.
